On May 15, 2016 Dr. Marek Wosinski retired after 25 years of teaching psychology at the Arizona State University, and 50 years of teaching since his graduation from University of Warsaw (Poland). He is still a Senior Sustainability Scientist at the ASU Global Institute of Sustainability, and the Member of the Board of Directors of the Global Network for Sustainable Development (GNSD) In January 2023 Dr. Marek permanently relocated to Warsaw (Poland) where he is teaching at Warsaw University.
In the years 1993 - 2003 Dr. Marek served as the Director of the community based counseling center in Mesa, AZ, where he was providing counseling for families and individuals, organized parent education workshops, co-facilitated numerous retreats and training conferences for youth leaders. In 2003 Dr. Marek was certified as a life coach, and opened a private practice Dr. Marek Coaching. He is the member of Transitions Coaching Network (www.transcoachnet.info)
Both during his entire teaching career, and while facilitating the development of GNSD, he has been mentoring and coaching a lot of young people, preparing them for professional career, and for the role of effective community leaders. He was recognized by the Society for Community Acton and Research as an Outstanding Educator of the year 2008.
Through his entire career, Dr. Marek has been very active on the international arena. He was teaching as a visiting professor in the Netherlands, Germany and Sweden. As a guest lecturer and motivational speaker, he has been presenting throughout Europe, Asia, North/South America and Australia to diversified audiences: teens, teachers, medical doctors, managers, parents, senior citizens, religious communities, and others. He presented papers to numerous international conferences.
Currently Dr. Marek coordinates GNSD Sister Schools Project that creates partnership between schools from economically developing and developed countries. The project’s goal is to establish a model of education supporting young people in the development of character traits and skills important for effective social activism.
Dr. Marek is married and has 3 daughters.
